Social Events: LOV Inc. Nights & Family Events
We know that cost can be a barrier for many individuals and families, so we offer many events for free or minimal cost. There is no fee to participate in these LOV Inc. activities:
- LOV Inc. Nights: Held each month, LOV Inc. Nights have included themes such as game night, planting party, movie night, trivia, and cookie decorating.
- Family Events: LOV Inc. organizes several events for the whole family throughout the year, including a Winter Gathering and Summer Picnic.
Learning Events: Learn with LOV
LOV Inc. offers a variety of learning opportunities throughout the year. Offered at no cost to participants, these learning events give families and individuals with disabilities time to come together to learn from experts and from one another. Topics have included:
- High School Transition
- Employment
- Independent Living for Young Adults
- IRIS/Family Care Learning Circle
- Legal Issues
Bridge Builder Project Members-Only Groups & Events
LOV Inc. offers a wide variety of events for Bridge Builder Project members. These events can be paid for with IRIS/Family Care funds or with private funds. Speak to your Bridge Builder staff person to get complete details about the following types of events and groups:
- Interest Groups: Members submit topic and activity suggestions for development into limited-time interest groups supported by Bridge Builder staff. Interest groups might include cooking, art, travel, meditation, dance sampler, photography, improv, and more.
- Monthly Groups: Ongoing monthly groups include Board Game Night, Coloring & Cocoa, Dungeons & Dragons, and Music Appreciation.
- Peer Support Groups: Members who enjoy participating in discussion-based group settings are invited to join an ongoing, monthly Peer Support Group—supported by Bridge Builder staff—where they have the opportunity to lead discussions on topics of their choosing.
Workshops: Register to Participate
LOV Inc. offers in-depth education and expert guidance in our workshops series. Workshop fees can be paid for with IRIS/Family Care funds or with private funds. Learn more about our two workshops:
- Fearless Future: Participants make a Fearless Future plan and practice self-determination skills to become better advocates for their current and future support needs.
- Moving On: This workshop series focuses on concrete, practical information that can educate participants and families and creatively address barriers to moving on.
