Mission, Vision, Values

Beginning in 2007, families of adults with disabilities met in Madison to discuss the future for our loved ones. There was a long list of unknowns that kept us up at night, but we found that we all shared similar hopes for the future. We wanted our family member with disabilities to have opportunities to socialize, feel connected to their community, and gain independence. LOV Inc. was born out of a desire to take control of what happened in the future, and we found that by working together we were more powerful to effect change. By creating a network of families, we were able to quickly share information and resources with one another, and address barriers together. We are still a family-led organization, though we have forged strong partnerships with the formal service system to enable our network to continue growing and thriving. From a group of 8 families in Madison, we have grown to a network of hundreds of families all over Wisconsin. We are now in fourteen counties, including Dane, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Ozuakee, Kenosha, Columbia, Juneau, Monroe, Sauk, Jackson, Wood, Racine, Rock, and Walworth. We work with groups of families all around the state, supporting them to identify solutions to the barriers that are unique to them rather than offering one size fits all solutions.
