Are you an individual with a disability who wants to build skills for independent living?
Creating a plan for moving out of the family home can be overwhelming. Take the guesswork out and join LOV Inc.’s Moving On series to create a customized plan for your next steps.
Whether it is navigating housing options, identifying supports, or building practical skills, this workshop will guide you to develop an individualized plan that addresses your unique goals and concerns.
Under the expert guidance of our facilitators, our supportive workshop series empowers families and individuals with disabilities to develop a concrete plan, get questions answered, and learn from peers and experts.
Workshop Participants
Individuals with disabilities and their team — which may include family members, caregivers, allies, and support staff — may attend the Moving On Workshops.
The series includes five sessions for individuals with disabilities and their families/teams to attend together.
Additionally, we offer a package of three additional sessions for individuals with disabilities to attend by themselves. Join our participants-only sessions for peer support and space to explore the topics and questions you have. Topics may include the emotions of preparing for a transition, roommate considerations, and safety preparedness. Guest speakers include individuals with disabilities who share their experience moving out of the family home.
